Don’t Hesitate on Your Christmas Lighting We’ve all done at least one of the following: Waited until the night before the due date to write that big term paper or presentation. Spent hours watching YouTube videos or reorganizing our sock drawer to avoid starting a new project. Rushed to the post office on April 15th to file our taxes. Done all of our holiday shopping on Christmas Eve. Told ourselves we’ll wash the dishes/pay our bills/return our phone calls/go to the gym… tomorrow. It’s called procrastination. Rather than spend time and energy on the task at hand, we convince ourselves that there are other things we need to do and think about instead. Even when in reality, those other things aren’t very important at all. There are lots of theories about why we procrastinate, but basically, procrastination is a form of avoidance. And avoidance is something better to be avoided. So if you’ve been meaning to work on your procrastination problem, but haven’t gotten around to it yet, here are a few good reasons for diving in and getting started on your holiday lighting project with us sooner rather than later. 1. Starting early allows for more time to get it done well. You can’t be very creative or make many adjustments or refinements when you wait until the last minute. With more time to think and create, your ideas can evolve and grow, and new ones can emerge. This is especially true of Christmas lighting design. At Mobile Illumination, all of our holiday lighting and décor installations are specifically designed to perfectly suit your individual style and taste. The more time we have to bring your ideas and vision to life, the better your Christmas lighting installation will be. 2. It’s later than you think. Christmas seems to come faster every year, and the holidays are the busiest time of year. There are so many activities and events to enjoy during the holidays, it’s hard to find time to do much of anything else. Commercial properties and municipalities in particular have a lot to do to prepare for this time of year. Taking care of your commercial Christmas lighting in advance leaves you more personal time to relax and celebrate the holidays once they arrive. Why not get a jump on the season by taking care of your Christmas decoration needs in June, rather than waiting until October or November? 3. Signing up early gives you priority. Getting on our schedule earlier gives you more flexibility in terms of scheduling your Christmas lighting installation. The most popular dates and times for installations book up fast. And installing your Christmas lights earlier gives you more value for your money. Won’t it be great to be the first business on your block to begin celebrating the season and attracting customers with warm, delightful holiday lighting? 4. Doing it now keeps you more organized and less stressed. Ticking “Christmas Lighting” off your To-Do list means getting one more thing out of the way, freeing up more time to take care of others that will inevitably crop up. As a wise man once said, “Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” Because with tomorrow may come a whole new set of problems to deal with. So don’t be a procrastinator. If you take just a moment to stop and think about it, there’s really no good reason for not calling Mobile Illumination for your holiday lighting needs today. That is, unless you think re-organizing your sock drawer qualifies as a good reason 🙂
