Did you get engaged during the holidays and are in full wedding planning mode? Or are you getting married this year and in the final planning stages? When it comes to planning your wedding, there are so many details to worry about that sometimes some of them get overlooked, such as lighting.

Lighting is the single most important décor element at your wedding that you don’t want to forget about. Although they seem more functional than decorative, we promise you can have a lot of fun with what you choose. Plus, lighting is what lights up your venue, makes your photos just right, and keeps the party going when it’s dark.

Create a Ceiling of Lights

We love how a ceiling of lights defines a specific location while creating the look of a starry sky. What’s great about a ceiling of lights is you don’t need it to be dark to have a starry sky and you could create this look both indoors and outdoors.

Incorporate String Lights

Strings lights are always a win because they can be used indoors and outdoors. Wrap the trees at the venue with string lights to give your wedding the romantic vibe you’re striving for. Hang a couple of string lights around the dance floor or across the venue for a glowy look.

Illuminate with Lanterns

Lanterns can give your space just the right amount of light and make enough of a statement but won’t distract your guests from your other decorations. If you’re looking to add some color to your venue, colorful lanterns are the perfect touch. Lanterns can be hung on trees, used as centerpieces on your tables, or scattered on the floor.

Good Lighting Makes Pictures Better

Having good pictures to look back on after your wedding has come and gone is just as important as your wedding day going just as you planned. Lighting is everything when it comes to having good pictures. You’ll want to make sure you can clearly see everyone’s face when taking your formal pictures, taking fun pictures in a photobooth, and the quick selfies your guests will be taking during the evening. You can get creative with the lighting around your venue to produce gorgeous pictures that you’ll forever look at.
